"I do not believe that there should be that freeze right now" on public sector wages says Shadow Chancellor Anneliese Dodds
@stax97 @BBCPolitics @BBCNews She’s right though if you make public sector workers less confident after already having 10 year pay freeze to pick up the bill for the bankers they won’t spend in the shops it’s stupid and lazy
@BBCPolitics If you are going to bring in fairness with the private sector, you'd also then be arguing that when the private sector recovers, the public sector pay should be matched to it.
@BBCPolitics @BBCNews Now, I'm not Tory voter, that's out of the way. It's all well and good Labour saying these things but if they where in power, dealing with this wretched year, I'm sure they would look at things a bit differently.
@BBCPolitics @BBCNews Really?? Yet the private sector, many of whom are key workers, still haven’t had pay rises since the last recession 10 years ago! Why should the public section always be given everything? The only exception should be nhs workers
@BBCPolitics @BBCNews FFS is she for real? give civil servants and teachers a pay increase now??? Granted, if it were a choice between this and defence, but giving overpaid teachers more money right now when they had 4 months off is madness
