I am thrilled to announce that Dr. @ArtisRoslyn will join the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity.
Dr. Artis is a fierce advocate for educational access and I am confident in her ability to advocate for positive and strategic transformation.
The additional $9.63M for the Lake Marion Regional Water Agency will provide large quantities of safe drinking water to water deserts, providing those communities w/ clean drinking water, enhanced fire suppression & better opportunities for economic growth.
On his first day in office, President Biden is already hard at work, taking executive action to deliver immediate relief to the American people & undoing some of the most egregious policies put in place by his predecessor.
I look forward to working with him to #BuildBackBetter.
In this truly American moment, we begin anew.
Democracy has won the day, and President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have met the moment.
Symbols matter. Words matter. Actions matter.
Now, it is time to begin moving again toward ‘a more perfect Union.’
Today we witness a new chapter in history.
President Biden and Vice President Harris represent a new era of opportunity for unity, not just in the United States but across the globe.
While our nation faces hard challenges ahead, let us move forward with hope.
Over 400,000 people in the U.S. have now died from COVID-19.
That’s 400,000 parents, grandparents, spouses, children, friends, and co-workers who are no longer here.
Defeating this pandemic must be the federal government’s top priority.
We cannot afford to wait.
WATCH TONIGHT at 8 pm EST! SC State Univ.’s Marching 101 Band and SC State alum @csmusician (Ranky Tanky) are among tonight's performances. Alumnus and House Majority @WhipClyburn will provide remarks during the event.
"I do not think it is possible to look back on our recent national elections and subsequent events and not conclude that our country is at a crossroads," writes Majority Whip Jim Clyburn. "That could be an alarming prospect but for the fact that it is not unfamiliar terrain."
As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today his words still ring true.
It is time for the people of good will to stop being complicit. Silence is consent.
Don't let this country come apart based upon lies & silence.
Stand up & speak the truth.
I hope President-elect Biden’s agenda will get bipartisan support.
I believe very strongly in being bipartisan.
Lets reach across the aisle, get their input, but if they refuse to go along with what needs to be done, he must use his executive authority.
