#isles game notes, II
- Bellows was involved (8 hits) and earned a 2nd straight game on Sat.
- Barzal looked much calmer & didn't try to do too much w/ the puck
- Varlamov was very collected. No exaggerated movements
- Dobson had some great moments in his 20+ min. of ice time
Some quick #isles notes from game 1:
- 3rd line needs some time to gel. Hard to compare them to the other lines who have all played together for 2+ seasons
- 2nd period was a little sleepy; they need to find that full-60 sooner than later
- Special teams looked good early
I’m jealous of this, and not just because I’m an #isles fan.

- As always, special teams will be key. Start like they mean to continue; gain momentum and get the kinks worked out quickly.
- Get involved; touches on the puck, hits, etc. Not a lot of time to ease into the season.

- As much as the rivalry is exciting, especially to start the season, they can't get sucked in. Need to play their game.
- Dobson will likely still get sheltered minutes, but he needs to keep his game simple.

The #isles powerplay needs someone to step up like this and have a career year on the man advantage. With the way the Islanders' offensive operates, capitalizing on the powerplay will be key.
