Eleven years ago today, #CitizensUnited opened the floodgates for unlimited dark money in our politics. Since then, corporations have doubled down on trying to drown out the voices of everyday people. To put families first, we need campaign finance reform.
I am honored to be the first male spouse of an American President or Vice President. But I'll always remember generations of women have served in this role before me—often without much accolade or acknowledgment. It’s their legacy of progress I will build on as Second Gentleman.
As the pandemic death toll climbs, it’s easy to look at the numbers and forget that they represent real lives cut short. Today we mourn 400,000 Americans lost to COVID-19, and we hold in our hearts their stories and the loved ones they left behind.

We all have a duty to do work in our communities, effect change in our country, and participate in building an equitable and just future.
It’s critical that minority-owned and minority-oriented voices have ample space in our media landscape. @ATT appears to be abusing its market power and favoring their own affiliates, rather than independent voices like @fusetv. It’s unacceptable. (2/2)

US employers cut 140,000 jobs in December, according to the latest jobs report. Women accounted for all the losses, losing 156,000 jobs, while men gained 16,000.
What the headline doesn't tell you: this disproportionately affects Black and Latina women who often lack paid sick leave or the ability to work from home.
